When Lakeside Owner Raj took the reins at Woodland Manor last year, the beautiful country house was in need of a bit of love and attention. Now, 18 challenging months and a six-figure grant later, the hotel and wedding venue has been transformed.
Ivy has been stripped from the front of the building along with large pillars from the Autograph Room. In the reception, lounge and bar areas the carpets have been replaced, while a number of bedrooms now feature comfortable new furniture.
Perhaps the most striking change, however, has taken place in The Glass Room. Formerly the conservatory, this delightful space has been transformed into a bright and airy room with a beautiful array of indoor plants and wonderfully natural ambience – perfect for traditional afternoon tea!
Redevelopment at the venue will continue into the new year as Raj looks to further improve facilities for guests, as well as establish the venue as one of the premier wedding venues in Bedford.
Raj says: “When we took charge in 2018, we had every confidence in building Woodland Manor’s reputation as a beautiful wedding and events venue. The funding has allowed us to make subtle changes to the internal look and feel of the Manor, improve the menu and build better links with the local community. We can’t wait to continue the redevelopment in 2020 as we try to enhance services for guests and grow the wedding-side of the business.”
