With winter well upon us, we’ve put together a list of Lakeside menu items that should help you beat the cold!
Winter Foods at Lakeside
A quick glance at the advent calendar will confirm that winter is well upon us. And it’s not just the date that gives it away – anyone who’s been outside recently will attest that it’s not getting any warmer. With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of items from our menu that should help you to beat the cold.
Full English Breakfast
A full English at Lakeside is a hearty dish that could defrost even a snowman. Lovingly prepared in our kitchen, the meal consists of Grasmere dry cured back bacon and sausage, a free range egg, Heinz baked beans, mushroom and slow roasted tomatoes. It is served with toasted buttered bloomer.
We have a veggie full English too, which comes with a free range egg, Heinz baked beans, slow roasted tomatoes, mushroom, spinach and Halloumi cheese. This option is also served with toasted buttered bloomer. As with all breakfast items, both dishes are available until 12 noon.
If you don’t fancy anything quite as full on as a full English, why not sample something a little lighter? Our sausage sandwich is made with Grasmere sausages and served on a buttered bloomer. Our bacon sandwich meanwhile, is made using Grasmere dry cured back bacon and is also served on a buttered bloomer.
Soup is a simple but always effective tonic to cold temperatures. Our delicious soup of the day is homemade in our kitchen and consists of a delightful concoction of seasonal ingredients. It is served with the bread of the day and is suitable for vegetarians.
We recently added wraps to our menu, specifically with the cold weather in mind. The hot falafel & halloumi wrap is suitable for vegetarians and served with roasted red pepper. The hot chicken wrap comes with sun dried tomatoes. Both wraps are joined on the plate by coleslaw and root vegetable crisps.
If you want to warm up with a drink we’ve got that covered too. We have a range of coffees, including cappuccino, mocha and latte (as well as traditional mugs of the stuff). Also on the menu are teas, from a standard cuppa to speciality options, and delicious hot chocolate – which, if you’re feeling particularly decadent, can be served with cream and marshmallows.
In addition to our food and drinks our recently installed wood burner should help with the wintry weather.
Have you been to Lakeside and enjoyed your visit? It would really help us if you left us a quick review here: https://g.page/lakeside-ferry-meadows/review?gm. Thanks!
